Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced outpatient coder to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will have RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC credentials and 2+ years of hospital coding experience, with proficiency in observation, injections/infusions, and ancillary coding.

A strong attention to detail and excellent communication are essential for success in a fully remote, flexible role. Responsibilities include reviewing records, coding diagnoses and procedures, calculating APCs, and maintaining coding

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hospital coding experience or coding consulting experience.
• Proficiency in Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions.
• Ability to maintain 95% coding accuracy and APC assignment accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Maintain continuing education credits and participate in sponsored meetings.
