Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role. Candidates will review medical records, assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensure proper APC assignment while maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and ability to work independently are essential. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to contribute to healthcare data solutions from a home workspace.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital or coding consulting role.
• Proficiency with AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/ CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• Strong written and verbal communication and time management, adeptness in remote work.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge disposition.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Communicate coding issues and opportunities for documentation improvement.
