Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced outpatient coders to join our remote team. This role focuses on reviewing medical records, assigning diagnoses and procedures, and ensuring accurate coding with adherence to HIPAA and AHIMA/AAPC standards.

The position requires 3+ years of coding experience in hospital settings, proficiency with encoding software, and strong communication skills for remote collaboration. It offers a fully remote, flexible schedule and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of coding experience in hospital and/or coding consulting.
• AHIMA or AAPC credentialing required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS or CPC/CPC-H/COC/CIC/CRC).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; adept at remote work.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence codes based on documentation and assign discharge dispositions.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
