Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. is seeking an Outpatient Coding Auditor for a remote nationwide position. You will conduct quality reviews and audits of outpatient coding, provide education to coders, and coordinate with managers to ensure policy adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of professional medical coding experience, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 knowledge, and credentials (AHIMA/AAPC preferred). This role supports multiple client systems and requires strong communication and QA skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal coding program; AHIMA/AAPC credentials preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive professional medical coding/reimbursement.
• National auditing credential (CPMA) preferred or obtainable within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic for Facility and Pro-fee services preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work across client systems.
• Cerner, EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass experience preferred.
• Academic medical facility auditing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality reviews and audits of outpatient coding.
• Coordinate with department managers to ensure standards.
• Create clear audit findings and recommendations in written reports.
• Deliver educational feedback to coding staff regarding audit findings.
• Identify documentation issues impacting coding accuracy and propose improvements.
• Provide continuing education on coding changes and trends.
