Job summary

Signature Performance, Inc. seeks an Outpatient Coding Auditor to ensure coding accuracy across departments. This remote, nationwide role requires advanced ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, and HCPCS knowledge, with experience auditing and educating staff.

You will prepare clear audit findings, guide coders, and deliver continuing education on coding and reimbursement changes. Minimum: 5+ years in professional medical coding, AHIMA/AAPC credentials preferred, and proficiency with Cerner, EPIC, and 3M 360

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal coding program with preference for AHIMA/AAPC credentials
• National auditing credential preferred (CPMA) or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, health record content
• Understanding of coding guidelines and references for audit findings
• Experience with Multi-Specialty Outpatient Clinic for Facility and Pro-fee services preferred
• Proficiency with multiple client systems and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Create clear and accurate audit findings and recommendations in written reports
• Deliver educational feedback to coding staff regarding audit findings
• Identify documentation gaps impacting coding accuracy and communicate improvement opportunities
• Provide guidance to staff to identify and resolve coding issues and error trends
• Provide continuing education on changes in coding and reimbursement systems
