Qualifications

• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC maintained annually.
• 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers.
• 2+ years of experience in acute surgery.
• Intermediate Windows PC experience including Microsoft Excel and EMR systems.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Adhere to coding standards of AAPC/AHIMA and client guidelines.
• Maintain high coding quality and productivity.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare policies.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Keep up-to-date coding knowledge through QM/Director guidance.
• Participate in department meetings and educational events.
