UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Outpatient Coding Specialist to ensure accurate coding for facility services, including Same Day Surgery. You will assign ICD-10, CPT and modifiers, adhering to official coding guidelines and client policies.

Requirements include AHIMA/AAPC credentials and 2+ years in ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers, with experience in acute surgery. Telecommuting option available across the United States.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AHIMA/AAPC credential (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CIC) and maintained annually.
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers experience.
• 2+ years of acute surgery experience.
• Windows environment with Microsoft Excel and EMR systems.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Expert knowledge in facility outpatient coding types: Same Day Surgery.
• Assign ICD-10, CPT and modifiers per guidelines.
• Maintain coding ethics per AAPC/AHIMA standards.
• Meet performance levels for coding quality and productivity.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare rules.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
• Stay current with coding updates via QM Manager and Directors.
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events.
• Additional duties as assigned.
