Job summary

The position emphasizes accuracy, adherence to coding guidelines, and professional growth within a mission-driven health care company. You will perform ICD-10 and CPT coding, monitor work queues, generate coding queries, and stay current with coding conventions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• AHIMA and/or AAPC coder certification required, maintained annually.
• 5+ years of General Surgery coding experience.
• 2+ years of Windows PC experience (MS Excel and EMR).
• 2+ years of ICD-10 and CPT coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Assigns diagnostic and procedure codes per guidelines for outpatient hospital accounts.
• Monitors work queues to ensure timely charging/coding of records.
• Generates coding queries for clarification of physician documentation.
• Keeps up to date with coding conventions and updates.
• Manages workload and meets deadlines with minimal supervision.
