Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced Outpatient Same-Day Surgery/Observation coder to join our fully remote team. You will review medical records, assign accurate codes, and ensure proper APC sequencing while maintaining high accuracy and productivity.

Qualifications

CCS or AHIMA/APC certification required.
Minimum 2+ years of hospital coding experience.
Proficiency with Same Day Surgery and Observation coding.
Experience with Epic and 3M software.
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong time management.

Responsibilities

Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
Assign discharge dispositions.
Abstract and enter coded data for hospital stats and reporting.
Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues for follow-up.
Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% APC accuracy; meet productivity standards.
Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
Attend Datavant Health sponsored education meetings.
