Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking an experienced Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to design, implement, and optimize the PeopleSoft database supporting enterprise HR systems. The role includes deploying across AWS RDS, ensuring security, backups, and high availability.

You will work remotely for eligible U.S. residents, travel up to 10%, and collaborate with a dynamic IT team to maintain robust database infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
• Perform SQL tuning and resource optimization, including PeopleSoft diagnostics.
• Ensure availability, integrity, and reliability via automated monitoring and backups (RMAN, PITR).
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies with cross-region backups.
• Enforce database security policies including auditing and compliance.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, and cross-tier performance bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain runbooks and documentation.
• Automate tasks using shell scripting, Python, SQL, and AWS Lambdas.
• Support migrations and upgrades across environments, including PeopleTools upgrades and environment refreshes.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and High Availability architecture.
