Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to design, implement, and optimize the PeopleSoft DB supporting our HR system. Fully remote position available to residents in AL, CA, CT, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, NC, NJ, OR, RI, SC, TX, VA, DC, WV.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with deep Oracle architecture knowledge.
• Strong performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting (Bash or Python).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
• Monitor performance, tune SQL, and optimize resources for PeopleSoft workloads.
• Ensure availability, integrity, and reliability with automated monitoring and alerts.
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies (RMAN, PITR, cross-region).
• Enforce database security policies and audit reporting per compliance needs.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, and cross-tier performance bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain runbooks, architecture docs, and process documentation.
• Automate tasks via shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, Lambda, and Step Functions.
• Support migrations/upgrades across environments (on-prem/cloud) and PUM lifecycle.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and High Availability implementations.
