Job summary

Atlas Tech is hiring an experienced Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to support the Direct Access infrastructure and enterprise HR systems. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing the PeopleSoft database for reliability and performance.

This fully remote position supports residents in the United States and involves up to 10% travel. The candidate will work with AWS RDS, implement robust backups, and contribute to DR planning and security initiatives.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship.
• DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related.
• Security+ CE Certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years as an Oracle DBA.
• Strong performance tuning & capacity planning.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Bash or Python.
• Familiar with AWS RDS, CloudWatch, PeopleSoft monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle DB across AWS RDS environments.
• Perform performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and optimization for PeopleSoft.
• Ensure availability, integrity, and reliability with automated monitoring and alerts.
• Develop backup strategies (RMAN, PITR, cross-region) and restore validation.
• Enforce security policies: access, encryption, auditing, compliance.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, and cross-tier issues.
• Create and maintain runbooks and docs.
• Automate tasks with shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, Lambda, Step Functions.
• Support migrations/upgrades including PeopleTools upgrades and environment refreshes.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and HA architecture.
