Job summary

Atlas Technologies is seeking an experienced Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Administrator to design, implement, and optimize the PeopleSoft database supporting our HR system. You will manage deployment, performance tuning, backups, security, and DR planning across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role requires 5+ years as an Oracle DBA, strong SQL/PLSQL skills, and experience with AWS RDS and CloudWatch. Remote work is available for qualified U.S. residents with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture.
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with database automation and monitoring tools, including AWS RDS, CloudWatch, and PeopleSoft monitoring integrations.
• U.S. Citizenship and DoD Secret Level Security Clearance required; security certification or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments.
• Perform proactive performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and resource optimization for PeopleSoft databases.
• Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability through automated monitoring and alerting.
• Develop and implement robust backup strategies (RMAN, PITR, cross-region backups).
• Enforce database security policies including access control, encryption, auditing, and compliance artifacts.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, locks, and cross-tier performance bottlenecks.
• Create and maintain documentation and runbooks; automate tasks with shell, Python, and Lambda workflows.
• Support migrations and upgrades across environments (on-prem and cloud) including PeopleTools upgrades; disaster recovery planning.
