Job summary

Merck in the United States is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to drive growth in the Oklahoma City, OK area and surrounding territory. You will engage with customers, educate stakeholders, and execute in collaboration with the Oncology team to meet sales goals.

This role requires oncology field experience, strong relationship building, travel readiness including overnight trips, and a passion for improving cancer patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience or a minimum of a high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
• Equivalent experience in healthcare/scientific field with oncology experience preferred (non-sales) or related roles.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle.
• Travel the amount of time the role requires, including overnight travel as needed.
• Reside in or near the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders and ensure seamless customer experience.
• Communicate the patient-centered rationale for oncology products.
• Understand tumor biology, treatment pathways, and care guidelines.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment with multiple distribution channels.
• Collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and district manager on plans.
