The ProActive Technology Group is seeking a NOC Engineer to own backups, RMM alerts, and patch remediation for our managed clients. This remote, part-time role focuses on keeping backups healthy, fixing alerts at the source, and closing patch and vulnerability gaps.

You will work ET hours, handle a remediation backlog, perform SureBackup tests, and generate audit-ready reports while maintaining clear runbooks and credentials discipline for CMMC access.

Formación

• 3+ years in an MSP or IT ops role.
• Hands-on Veeam B&R: jobs, repositories, backup copy, agents and SureBackup.
• Day-to-day RMM alert remediation (NinjaOne preferred): AV/EDR health, disk space, services, offline devices.
• Windows patch troubleshooting: failed cumulative updates, servicing stack and component store repair (DISM/SFC), WSUS/Windows Update logs, and third-party patching.
• Vulnerability remediation from scanner findings, with a record of verifying the fix.
• Windows Server, Hyper-V/VMware, storage (NAS, iSCSI) and basic networking.
• Experience with object storage targets (Backblaze, Azure Blob, Cloud Connect), including immutability and quotas.
• Clear writing for both tickets and client reports.
• Disciplined credential handling. Must be able to pass a background check for CMMC access

Responsabilidades

• Triage backup failures and warnings daily across Veeam servers, agents and cloud copies.
• Remote in through NinjaOne/ScreenConnect to fix storage, repository, network, licensing and upgrade issues.
• Run scheduled and on-request restore tests and write audit-ready evidence.
• Enforce backup standards: 3-2-1 with cloud copy, retention, encryption and no excessive synthetic fulls.
• Run half-year backup audit and present findings.
• Maintain VSPC onboarding/offboarding, report recipients, and keep managed list aligned to billing.
• Work NinjaOne condition-alert queue to zero, fix root causes to prevent re-alerts.
• AV/EDR health: address missing/disabled or outdated protection.
• Low disk space cleanup, profile/temp clearing, and hardware upgrade escalation.
• VMware/Hyper-V alerts: free space, stale checkpoints, hardware sensors, high memory, critical services down.
• Device-offline alerts: verify outages vs false positives.
• Tune alert conditions so alerts are actionable, not noise.
• Remediate patches: Windows cumulatives and third-party apps; handle stuck/pending reboots.
• Install out-of-band updates when policy blocks approval.
• Remediate vulnerability findings: patch/upgrade/reconfigure and verify closure.
• Report patch compliance and open backlog weekly.
• Own Halo tickets to close with clear notes.
• Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Work CMMC client systems under access controls.
• Keep credentials/runbooks current in Hudu.
