Job summary

Bavardio is seeking a Network Observability Engineer to join our remote-first team. You will own connectors to monitoring systems and the network map, and you will drive outage attribution and uptime reporting for a NOC. You will collaborate with operators to ensure data accuracy and a dependable product.

You will work remotely with occasional trips, and you’ll engage with multiple vendors and teams to turn data fixes into product improvements that reflect real network conditions.

Qualifications

• Production network experience (ISP/WISP/carrier/data center).
• Knowledge of SNMP and monitoring to distinguish outages from artifacts.
• Solid coding in Python and SQL; comfortable owning a service in production.
• Precise about what data shows and does not show.
• Available for at least 4 hours per day overlapping US working hours.

Responsibilities

• Build connectors to network monitoring systems and equipment vendors; poll and stream data with minimal impact on operator systems.
• Create and maintain the network map showing site feeds, edges, and customer placements behind equipment.
• Implement outage detection and attribution to identify what failed and why (power, weather, maintenance).
• Develop uptime, capacity, and site availability reporting for NOC leadership.
