Job summary

The Landline Company is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead maintenance, planning, and vendor management for a growing motorcoach fleet. You will own the maintenance program, forecast schedules, and the budget to keep operations efficient and compliant.

You’ll manage Fleetio and Samsara, coordinate scheduled and unscheduled work, and report fleet readiness to SOC and leadership. This is a remote role across North America with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in transportation operations, fleet management or related consulting.
• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or related field.
• Strong data skills: Excel; SQL, Python or BI tools a plus.
• Familiarity with Fleetio and Samsara.
• Excellent communication and leadership in a startup environment.
• Comfort with remote work across locations/time zones.
• Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt) is a nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Own maintenance plan for a growing fleet with vendors and data.
• Build rolling forecast aligned to OEM intervals and usage.
• Maintain maintenance budget with Finance and variance reporting.
• Coordinate unscheduled maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Keep service records in Fleetio and Samsara; track DVIRs.
• Manage parts and pass-through costs with maintenance partners.
• Flag recurring issues or end-of-life vehicles using data.
• Represent Landline at external facilities and issue work orders.
• Schedule all planned/unplanned work and position buses on time.
• Review partner invoices and track technician usage vs budget.
• Plan quarterly reviews with key maintenance vendors.
• Provide real-time fleet readiness updates to SOC/leadership.
• Own Fleetio and Samsara access and IT interfaces.
• Plan vehicle assignments, capacity risks, and retirements.
• Maintain vehicle files (registration, insurance, inspections).
• Coordinate warranty claims and vendor training.
• Track TSBs/recalls and advise on reliability and procurement.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and audit-ready records.
