Job summary

The Landline Company in Boston is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead maintenance and fleet readiness for a growing 100-motorcoach network. This full-time role emphasizes data-driven decisions, external vendor coordination, and remote collaboration across multiple locations.

You will manage maintenance budgets, implement OEM maintenance cycles, and oversee Fleetio/Samsara systems while ensuring regulatory compliance and on-time operations.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in transportation operations, fleet management or related field.
• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Strong data skills; Excel required; SQL, Python or BI tools advantageous.
• Experience with Fleetio or Samsara is a strong plus.
• Comfort working remotely across locations/time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own the maintenance function with plan, vendors and data to scale to a 100-motorcoach fleet.
• Maintain a rolling maintenance forecast aligned to OEM intervals.
• Maintain the maintenance budget with Finance and report variances.
• Coordinate unscheduled maintenance without disrupting service operations.
• Keep service records in Fleetio and Samsara; track DVIR resolution.
• Manage parts procurement and validate pass-through costs.
• Flag recurring issues or approaching end of life using maintenance data.
• Represent Landline at external maintenance facilities and issue work orders.
• Schedule all planned and unplanned work and ensure buses are on time.
• Review partner invoices and track technician usage against budget.
• Plan quarterly reviews with key maintenance vendors.
• Provide SOC and leadership with real-time fleet readiness views.
• Own Fleetio and Samsara access and IT interfaces.
• Plan vehicle assignments and capacity risk ahead of additions/retirements.
• Maintain vehicle files and coordinate warranty claims.
• Track TSBs, recalls and advise on reliability and procurement.
• Ensure compliance and audit-ready records; report KPIs.
