Job summary

CLFC Healthcare and Communications is hiring entry-level, fully remote Medical Support Assistants to support VA VISN 19. You will schedule appointments and handle patient data from home, serving Veterans and families in the VISN 19 region.

Ideal candidates have at least six months of customer service experience, basic computer skills, and a high school diploma or GED. The program includes onboarding, cybersecurity training, and VA system training.

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience or more.
• Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• English proficiency, both written and spoken.
• Ability to pass a federal background check (NACI, Low Risk).

Responsibilities

• Schedule veteran appointments for primary care, specialty clinics, and community care per VHA Directive 1230.
• Verify and update patient demographics and contact information to federal standards.
• Document interactions in CPRS and VistA with high accuracy, averaging 20 cases per day.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler and care teams; escalate issues through defined channels.
• Provide professional, empathetic customer service to Veterans, families, and VA staff by phone and secure channels.
• Complete cybersecurity, Privacy Act, and HIPAA training and maintain confidentiality.
