Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization is hiring a Medical Records Coder II for a fully remote position. You will code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions to ensure accurate reimbursement for hospital and professional charges.

Qualifications

• Advanced ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 coding knowledge required.
• Anatomy, physiology and medical terminology proficiency.
• Extensive DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge.
• Strong data entry and CRT skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review complex medical records and code primary/secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Coordinate/review work of designated staff and audits for quality.
• Educate physicians on coding practices and conventions.
• Abstract data for optimal hospital/professional reimbursement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and standards.
