Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II for a 100% remote role. The position involves coding using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, auditing work, and educating staff on coding practices across Duke Health’s revenue cycle systems.

Required RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications or active equivalents, and a strong foundation in anatomy, medical terminology, and DRG/APC reimbursement. Remote workers must reside in listed states.

Qualifications

• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/HCS-D certifications required or active per job postings.
• High school diploma required.
• Experience with complex coding audits and physician education is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions for hospital and professional charges.
• Coordinate and review work of subordinates; participate in audits and continuing education.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding practices to ensure accurate documentation.
• Communicate with nursing and ancillary staff for documentation needs.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of anatomy, physiology and coding guidelines.
