Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Medical Records Coder II for its remote Patient Revenue Management Organization. You will code using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, coordinate with staff, and ensure accurate DRG/APC assignments to maximize appropriate reimbursement.

Requires RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CPC or HCS-D certifications or one year coding experience; a high school diploma is required. Remote work is available for multiple states; a $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered in installments.

Qualifications

• Advanced ICD-10-CM & CPT-4 coding conventions.
• Anatomy and Physiology terminology knowledge.
• Extensive DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge.
• Coding software familiarity.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Data entry/CRT proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT coding conventions.
• Coordinate/review work of staff and assist with training programs.
• Conduct audits to ensure quality and quantity of coding work.
• Research and present continuing education on coding topics.
• Educate physicians on coding practices and conventions.
