Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a remote Coding Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the coding department. You will supervise caregivers, handle coding issues, QA audits, and drive operational improvements using Epic and PB Resolute.

Requirements include CPC or CCS-P certification and E/M coding experience. Preferred are 2+ years of supervisory work and Epic proficiency. 40-hour weeks with a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Preferred - High school diploma or equivalent
• Required - CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician)
• Required – Demonstrated experience in professional fee coding, including Evaluation & Management (E/M) services
• Preferred - Minimum of two (2) years of professional fee coding experience, coding for assigned specific specialty service lines, prior supervisory experience, and previous Epic experience

Responsibilities

• Navigate Epic EMR including applicable reports and work queues.
• Oversee daily coding functions including monitoring Epic Coding WQs, in-basket messages, inpatient note report, and timely charge entry to monitor KPIs.
• Participate in interview process and onboard new caregivers, coach caregivers, and monitor corrective action plans.
• Monitor staffing levels, coder productivity, quality assurance audits, and adherence to departmental protocols.
• Provide day-to-day support for coders including scheduling, timecards, forecasting resource needs, and cross-department collaboration.
