Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah seeks a Coding Department Supervisor to assist with day-to-day operations, oversee QA audits, and drive improvements in coding processes. You will supervise staff, onboard new coders, monitor productivity and timeliness, and collaborate with HIM teams to meet performance targets, using Epic Encoder Pro and other tools.

The role requires CPC/CCS-P, E/M coding experience, and a track record of leadership in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P required.
  • Experience with professional fee coding including Evaluation & Management (E/M) services.
  • Minimum two years in professional fee coding; supervisory and Epic experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily coding functions and monitor Epic WQs and in-basket messages.
  • Onboard and orient new coders; coach staff; draft and monitor corrective actions.
  • Monitor staffing, coder productivity, QA audits, and adherence to protocols.
  • Collaborate with Coding Manager and other departments to meet goals.
  • Utilize MS Office, Kronos, ServiceHub, and Optum Encoder Pro.
