Job summary

Terrestris is seeking a Remote Medical Coder to support VA Portland Health Care System from a remote location. The role requires at least 2 years of outpatient/inpatient coding experience and AHIMA/AAPC credentials.

The position offers a 1-year contract, with a 40-hour workweek, primarily remote but on-site coding support may occur as needed. Ideal candidates have VA coding exposure and are capable of processing inpatient and outpatient records quickly, accurately, and within set deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in outpatient and/or inpatient coding.
• Credentialing program in coding/HIM/HIT with AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/COC).
• Prev. VA experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote coding for inpatient admissions and outpatient visits for VA Portland Health Care System.
• Code using VA VistA/CPRS and enter codes into approved coding application.
• Create reports, monitor coders, and meet coding deadlines (≤7 days outpatient, ≤7 days inpatient).
