Job summary

Sierra7 is seeking a Full-Time Outpatient Medical Coder to perform remote coding for VA Health Care System. You will read medical records in VistA/CPRS and code them into the encoder, ensuring HIPAA compliance and proper CPT/ICD usage.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least 2 years outpatient coding experience, and 6 months VA or government contractor experience. Familiarity with VIRR/WebVIRR and various coding types is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient coding experience.
• At least 6 months VA or government contractor experience supporting the VA.
• Experience using VIRR/WebVIRR.
• Ability to code outpatient, inpatient facility and professional, and surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient visits and surgical procedures for VA Health Care System.
• Access VistA/CPRS and enter codes into encoder or other package.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and complete required privacy/security training.
• Apply CPT/ICD classifications and modifiers accurately.
• Aim for high auditing scores and adhere to coding guidelines.
