Prudential Financial seeks an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to act as a technical expert in Long-Term Disability, guiding claim professionals and supporting the Team Lead. The role emphasizes policy interpretation, complex claim evaluation, coaching, and process improvement in a fully virtual environment with occasional on-site requirements.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years of LT Disability experience, strong communication, and the ability to analyze trends and coach staff.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Long-Term Disability policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, benefit calculations, Social Security benefits.
• Strong communication, consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to independently analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios and recommend sound strategies.
• Demonstrated success coaching claim professionals and building technical capability.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Long-Term Disability technical expert to Team Lead and professionals on complex matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical/vocational considerations, claim strategy, eligibility, and next steps.
• Coach professionals through complex scenarios to strengthen critical thinking and consistent practices.
• Provide timely feedback to improve execution and decision quality.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Monitor claim block health with Team Lead, track inventory and performance indicators.
• Develop and deliver technical training and knowledge sharing for claim staff.
• Consult on high-risk or escalated claims with policy and procedures in mind.
• Maintain technical resources, procedures, and best-practice guidance for consistency.
