Job summary

Prudential Financial is seeking an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to serve as a Long Term Disability technical expert and coaching resource. You will guide claim professionals on complex matters, interpret policy provisions, and support consistent, high-quality outcomes across the disability block.

You will analyze trends, provide actionable feedback, and help prioritize actions with the Team Lead to maintain block health while ownership remains with the claim professional.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations.
• Ability to independently analyze complex or high‑risk claims and recommend next steps.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Long Term Disability technical expert for complex claim matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical/vocational considerations, and claim strategy.
• Coach claim professionals to strengthen critical thinking and execution.
• Offer timely feedback to improve claim quality and block health.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Monitor claim block health with Team Lead and prioritize corrective actions.
• Support development and delivery of technical training for claim staff.
• Consult on high‑risk, escalated, or technically complex claims.
• Support other technical, coaching, and operational priorities as needed.
