Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking a LIHTC Development Consultant to advise affordable housing developers on 9% and 4% LIHTC transactions from feasibility through closing. You will manage client relationships, mentor staff, and influence strategic LIHTC decisions with minimal oversight.

The role requires strong financial modeling, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex LIHTC concepts clearly to clients and internal teams across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least five years of LIHTC development or consulting experience.
• Preferred CPA, MBA, MRED, JD, or similar credential; multi-state 9% and 4% LIHTC experience.
• Knowledge of LIHTC program, 9% and 4% transactions, QAPs, and housing agency processes.
• Strong communication and advisory skills for internal teams and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead LIHTC development strategy, feasibility analysis, and capital stack structuring.
• Direct preparation and review of LIHTC applications under QAPs; guide awards and post‑award steps.
• Review financial models, sources/uses, and equity pricing; support closings and 8609s.
• Mentor staff, share best practices, and coordinate with developers, lenders, and agencies.
