Job summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is seeking an LIHTC Development Consultant to advise affordable housing developers on 9% and 4% LIHTC transactions from feasibility through closing. You will manage client relationships, mentor staff, and advise on strategy and capital stack decisions.

The role emphasizes strategic underwriting, coordination with agencies, and ensuring successful applications and awards across multi-state LIHTC projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of LIHTC development or consulting experience.
• CPA, MBA, MRED, JD or similar credential preferred.
• Knowledge of LIHTC program, including 9% and 4% transactions, QAPs, and state housing agency processes.
• Ability to analyze risks, assumptions, and structuring alternatives and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead LIHTC development strategy, feasibility analysis, and capital stack structuring for 9% and 4% LIHTC deals.
• Direct preparation and review of LIHTC applications and scoring/positioning strategies.
• Review sources and uses, credit calculations, and operating pro formas; advise on equity pricing.
• Coordinate with developers, lenders, investors, attorneys, and agencies; guide clients through awards and post-award steps.
• Mentor staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices.
