Job summary

Leidos seeks a senior Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a dynamic team delivering high voltage line design projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. You will lead engineering analyses, PLS‑CADD modeling, structure loading, and procurement documentation across roles like design and construction management.

You will drive staff development, client relations, and new business capture, while applying AI and automation to modernize grid design and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (Civil preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design with Bachelor's; 6+ years with a Master's.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• EIT certification.
• Ability to work in a team or independently; strong communication with clients.
• Business acumen and ability to meet project metrics.
• Onsite work at Leidos or client offices; occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams across projects for several clients.
• Develop engineers through training, coaching, and mentorship.
• Approve timesheets and oversee annual performance reviews.
• Participate in leadership as part of the Transmission Line Section.
• Create responses to RFPs and define scope of work.
• Foster continuous improvement through innovation and automation.
• Forecast workloads and support recruiting to fuel growth.
• Oversee schedule, budget, and quality with Project Managers.
