Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a remote team delivering high-voltage transmission system designs for major utilities. You will apply NESC, ASCE, NEC, and related standards across 34.5 kV–765 kV projects, directing analyses, PLS-CADD modeling, and structural design work.

This senior role emphasizes client relations, staff development, proposal leadership, scope creation, and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• EIT certification and strong communication to serve as primary contact for clients.
• Experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE is required.
• Willingness to work onsite when needed and travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams to deliver high-voltage transmission projects for large utilities.
• Develop and mentor engineering staff and manage performance reviews.
• Lead RFP/RFI/RFQ responses and define scope of work for new projects.
• Drive growth mindset and process improvements through innovation and automation.
• Delegate tasks, forecast workload, and support aggressive growth goals.
• Oversee quality control to ensure high-quality deliverables across projects.
• Liaise with clients to build relationships and support business development.
• Manage portfolio health with project managers to monitor scope, schedule, and budget.
