Job summary

Leidos seeks a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a collaborative team on high voltage transmission projects, overseeing overhead and underground design for 34.5 kV to 765 kV systems and applying applicable standards.

You will perform analyses, prepare bidding and construction documents, and manage procurement, while developing an engineering team and handling client relations, proposals, and project scope. Remote-friendly, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of relevant design experience in high voltage transmission.
• Professional Engineering registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE or FAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Team collaboration and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analyses and prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications.
• Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
• Lead and mentor staff; manage client relations, proposals, scope and project management.
• Collaborate with planning, environmental, permitting and construction management teams.
