Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer who will lead a team delivering high voltage transmission line design projects for major utilities. The role combines engineering, project management and bid/proposal responsibilities across overhead and underground systems from 34.5 kV to 765 kV.

The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC and other standards while directing a team of engineers through modelling, structure loading, foundation design, drafting, and materials procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) with 8+ years in high voltage transmission design.
• Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong communication to serve as primary client contact.
• Business acumen with track records in project metrics.
• Occasional onsite work at Leidos or client offices and some travel.
• Mentor staff to develop engineering talent.

Responsibilities

• Direct multiple design teams on high voltage transmission projects.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, ASCE, NEC, ACI and other standards.
• Lead scope creation, change control, and project execution for a full book of work.
• Develop proposals and capture new business opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative, positive team culture and mentoring.
