Job summary

Leidos Inc. is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to manage a dynamic team in fast-paced electric transmission projects, overseeing layout, modeling, and procurement through modular design and AI-driven workflow improvements.

The role emphasizes leadership, client interaction, and growth—driving proposal development, scope creation, and execution across overhead and underground systems for major utilities. Hybrid work with some travel is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience in high voltage transmission design.
Expertise in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Engineer In Training (EIT) certification.
Ability to work in a team and independently.
Strong communication to serve as primary client contact.
Business acumen with track record of meeting project metrics.
Onsite work with possible travel.

Responsibilities

Direct multiple design teams on high voltage transmission projects for utilities.
Develop and mentor Leidos engineering staff.
Lead proposals, scope definition, and project execution across the full work program.
Drive client relations and business development to capture new work.
Monitor schedule and budget with Project Managers to ensure project success.
