Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a collaborative team in delivering high voltage transmission line design projects for utilities across the U.S. The role involves engineering leadership, bidding and construction documentation, and applying AI and digital design tools for grid modernization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (12+ years in HV transmission design).
• Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with high voltage transmission design and related standards (NESC/ASCE/AC1/NEC).
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE or FAD, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering design of overhead and underground HV transmission lines from 34.5 kV to 765 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Manage direct reports and mentor staff; drive client relations, proposals, and project management.
• Apply AI, automation and digital design platforms to grid modernization and design efficiency.
