Job summary

Twilio is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead its Voice Media team and drive the technical strategy for core media infrastructure powering Twilio’s Voice services at global scale.

You will lead a group of senior engineers, guide architecture decisions for low-latency media systems, and collaborate with product and platform teams to align roadmaps and reliability targets across the media stack.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience leading teams building distributed systems.
• Understanding of Voice/VoIP infrastructure and media handling challenges.
• Strong background in architecting backend services at scale with high reliability and strict SLOs.
• Deep understanding of systems design, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience balancing reliability, scalability and feature delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of senior engineers developing Twilio’s media processing stack.
• Drive technical architecture for low-latency, high-throughput media systems.
• Define technical roadmaps with product and platform teams.
• Promote engineering excellence through code quality, testing, and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and guide on complex media processing challenges.
• Balance technical debt reduction with feature development while maintaining service reliability.
