Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own a critical area of the product portfolio and guide cross-functional teams from discovery through delivery. This senior role requires setting direction and translating the needs of law enforcement, fire, EMS, and 911 dispatchers into thoughtful, reliable experiences.

You will partner with Product and Engineering to decide which problems to solve, shape the design system, and influence product strategy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional product design experience including ownership of shipped software
• 5+ years designing complex enterprise SaaS products or equivalent systems
• Track record leading design for a substantial product area
• Strong judgment balancing user needs, strategy, and execution
• Ability to influence decisions with stakeholders without formal authority

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction for a critical product area and create a clear vision
• Lead discovery through delivery by researching, synthesizing insights, and exploring approaches
• Trade off between user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities
• Translate high-stakes workflows of first responders into intuitive experiences
• Design across dispatch workstations to mobile apps within an ecosystem
• Contribute to design system and patterns and mentor other designers
• Present product visions and recommendations to customers and senior leaders
• Explore AI/ML opportunities to improve public safety workflows
