Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to take ownership of a critical area of our product portfolio. You will partner with Product and Engineering to define problems worth solving and shape the experience across dispatch, records, analytics, and mobile apps for first responders.

You’ll lead a design-driven process from discovery through delivery, mentor peers, contribute to a design system, and present vision to customers and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional product design experience with shipped software.
• 5+ years designing complex enterprise SaaS products or similarly sophisticated systems.
• Track record leading design for a substantial product area from discovery through shipped outcomes.
• Strong product judgment across customer needs, strategy, interaction, systems thinking, and execution.
• Deep experience with qualitative and quantitative research driving decisions.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering leaders and influencing decisions without formal authority.
• Excellent interaction and visual design skills with craftsmanship.
• Ability to communicate complex design decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction for a critical product area and create a clear long-term vision.
• Lead a complex initiative from discovery through delivery with cross-functional partners.
• Balance user needs, technical constraints, business priorities, and strategy.
• Work with first responders to translate workflows into intuitive experiences.
• Design across environments and devices, including dispatch workstations and mobile apps.
• Contribute to design system and patterns and mentor other designers.
• Present product vision and recommendations to customers and senior leaders.
• Explore AI and emerging tech to improve public safety workflows.
