Job summary

Mark43 is seeking a Lead Product Designer to own a critical area of the product portfolio. You will set direction, lead cross-functional teams from discovery to delivery, and translate first responders' needs into intuitive experiences across desktop, vehicle, and mobile platforms.

You’ll collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape which problems we tackle, raise the bar for craft and systems thinking, and contribute to design leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional product design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating significant ownership and impact on shipped software products
• 5+ years of experience designing complex enterprise SaaS products or similarly sophisticated systems and workflows
• A track record of leading design for a substantial product area, including setting direction, prioritizing opportunities, and driving work from early discovery through shipped outcomes
• Strong product judgment and the ability to move comfortably between customer needs, product strategy, interaction design, systems thinking, and detailed execution
• Deep experience with qualitative and quantitative research and the ability to turn customer insights into clear product decisions
• Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders and influencing decisions without relying on formal authority
• Excellent interaction and visual design skills, with a high bar for product craftsmanship
• The ability to communicate complex design decisions clearly and persuasively to customers, peers, and senior leadership
• Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where the path forward is not always defined

Responsibilities

• Set the design direction for a critical product area and create a clear vision for the experience.
• Lead discovery through delivery, researching insights and turning ambiguous problems into compelling product experiences.
• Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities while advocating for the customer experience.
• Work with first responders and public safety stakeholders to translate workflows into intuitive interfaces.
• Design across environments and devices, from desktops to in-vehicle and mobile applications.
• Contribute to design systems and raise the bar for craft and consistency.
• Present visions and recommendations to customers and senior leaders with clear rationale.
• Explore how AI and emerging technologies can enhance public safety workflows.
