Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience with complex defect resolution and multi-state filings.
• Experience as a lead, senior specialist, or SME with coaching or training junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US payroll tax regulations including local and state programs.
• Strong writing skills for SOPs and technical documents for tax processors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1-TP3 staff and teach resolution paths.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles across core operations.
• Conduct quarterly formal coaching sessions to close skill gaps.
• Lead team huddles and stand-ups as backup facilitator when needed.
• Monitor WIP, backlog, and aging reports; recommend staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices (IRS/state) across jurisdictions.
• Approve complex amended returns (Federal/State) with audit trails.
• Identify trends and compliance risks; communicate findings with data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings with compliance focus.
