Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on high-voltage transmission line design from 46 kV to 345 kV. You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI standards and prepare plans, specifications, bidding documents, and procurement packages.

The role is 100% remote based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits across the client's service territory. Requires a Civil Engineering degree and 8+ years of related experience; travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least eight years of experience in electric transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs with PLS-CADD models, foundations, and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; materials procurement; project schedules.
• Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Strong team collaboration and ability to work independently; clear client communication.
• Willingness to travel and work onsite occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground transmission lines, from 46 kV to 345 kV, under applicable standards.
• Prepare bidding documents, drafts of plans and specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
• Support project planning and delivery within a Leidos multi-disciplinary team.
