Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team on electric transmission design projects from 46kV to 345kV. The role emphasizes applying NESC, ASCE, ACI codes and preparing plans, specs, and construction packages.

This remote-based position is based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with occasional site visits across the client’s territory. Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree and 8+ years of HV line design experience, with PLS-CADD, POLE, and other Bentley

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least eight years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and profiles, and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specs; material procurement; project schedules; and construction work packages.

Responsibilities

Design electric utility transmission systems (overhead and underground) from 46 kV to 345 kV.
Review and develop transmission line designs, foundations, plans, and construction packages.
Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications, and material procurement documentation.
Coordinate with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting and construction management teams.
