Job summary

Leidos Inc. seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team on electric transmission projects from 46kV to 345kV. This role involves design, standards adherence, and client interfacing, with 100% remote work based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula and possible site visits.

The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, and related standards, prepare bids, and develop plans and procurement packages. Travel may be required and collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans, and packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; procurement and construction packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals and work in teams or independently.
• Strong client communication and travel as needed; familiarity with project scheduling.
• Proficient with PL S-CADD, POLE, LPILE, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer HV overhead/underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement materials.
• Interface with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Develop scopes and estimates; manage projects in a team environment.
