Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to lead design of HV overhead and underground transmission from 46kV to 345kV on a remote, client‑facing team.

You will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other standards, develop bidding and construction documents, draft plans and material specs, and coordinate with clients, project planning and environmental teams. Periodic site visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and minimum eight years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, ASCE code requirements and material procurement process.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with clients and project teams.
• Travel may be required; program experience in PLS-CADD/POLE and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Design electric transmission line systems for HV overhead and underground projects.
• Prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Interface with Leidos team and client personnel to support project delivery.
• Apply standards and provide engineering analyses and development of procurement documentation.
