Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, handling electric transmission line design projects from 46kV to 345kV for a major electric utility.

The role applies NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other standards in overhead systems, voltage conversion, capacity expansion, and infrastructure replacement, with work including analyses, bidding docs, plans, specs, and procurement/construction packages. Remote-based in Michigan with site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in design of electric utility transmission systems.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specifications; procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals; work in a team or independently.
