Job summary

Leidos, a leader in engineering services, seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on high-voltage transmission projects from 46kV to 345kV. The role involves overhead and underground system design, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI standards, and coordinating with clients across multiple disciplines.

Role is 100% remote based in Michigan's Lower Peninsula with regular site visits to the client’s territory; travel may be required to adjacent regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and eight+ years in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; construction specs and procurement.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in team environments and independently; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Apply NESC/ASCE/ACI standards in overhead transmission design.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, and procurement material.
• Interact with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Travel to client sites as needed.
