Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team working on electric transmission design projects from 46kV to 345 kV. The role emphasizes applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards while coordinating across planning, environmental, and construction teams.

The position is 100% remote based in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula with regular site visits. Candidates may travel regionally across the client’s service territory as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 8+ years in transmission design.
• Experience with HV overhead/underground systems and substation interfaces.
• Familiarity with NESC, ASCE, ACI, AISC standards and design specs.
• Ability to develop scopes, budgets, and proposals for projects.
• Strong communication with clients and project teams; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design electric transmission lines for 46kV–345kV HV systems.
• Prepare bidding docs, plans, specs, and procurement packages.
• Apply standards in design of overhead systems and infrastructure projects.
• Interface with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Coordinate with Leidos team and participate in risk and schedule management.
