Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced setting. You will work as an engineer on HV overhead and underground transmission projects from 46 kV to 345 kV, applying NESC and ASCE standards, and preparing bidding, plans, and construction packages.

The role involves remote work with Michigan-based focus, possible site visits, and collaboration with clients, environmental and permitting teams, and construction management professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 8+ years in electric transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plans and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specs; material procurement; project schedules; and construction work packages.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work effectively in team environment but also independently.
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Travel may be required for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46 kV to 345 kV for a major utility.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Interface with clients and Leidos team; support environmental, permitting, and construction management.
• Apply standards such as NESC, ASCE, ACI in engineering and design.
