Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team solving challenging problems in electric transmission. You will design HV overhead and underground systems from 46kV to 345kV for a major electric utility, applying NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other standards.

Responsibilities include engineering analyses, bidding documents, plans and specifications, material procurement, and construction documents; travel to client sites; remote work from Michigan's Lower Peninsula.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 8+ years of experience in electric utility transmission design.
Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; material procurement processes.
Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
Strong communication and teamwork; able to travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

Design HV transmission line systems from 46kV to 345kV, including overhead and underground.
Prepare bidding documents, plans and specifications.
Prepare material procurement and construction documents.
Interface with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
